Think about it. Stevie is the original master, just like Jimi (they even have his guitar replicas selling around the world played by many guitar players). I don't know what's so ridiculous, if some is inspired by otherone, doeas it mean he can't be better ? In my opinion SRV took all the great things from Hendrix, added something from himself and vuala. I like his style better, and his tone suits me more too (his little wing is sooo much better than the oryginal).
That doesn't mean of course I don't respect Hendrix. It's all just a matter of TASTE : )
