Roy Buchanan, and Rory were the most SOULFUL blues guitarists of all time. Albert Collins was simply GET DOWN. His finger picking style was totally unique. Did you check out Albert playing along with Gary Moore on the Montreux DVD from 1990? |

To leave Rory out of any greatest ax list is akin to leaving off Jimi, EC, Gilmore or Beck. Rory had 'it' and listening and watching always shows me what some truly great music really is. Badly missed.
The lists are all BS anyway. |

yes its sad, because rolling stone and all those kinda magazine bullshit lists, are voted on by the general public not musicians or people of any good musical taste, which is why those lists are a joke. |

I grew up listening to Beatles, Stones, then got into Hendrix, Clapton and Johnny Winter, then later, SRV. Only discovered Rory about 2 years ago, and am just blown away. What an unbelieveable talent. I have to say he's my favorite. |

I listen to Jimi, SRV, Ritchie Blackmore, Johnny Winter, Albert Collins, and I say "that is great stuff". Then I come back to Rory and I say, "yep, that's it". Rory had a certain something I've never heard from any one. He was beyond a genius, to something else. I don't know what. |
