I am still in love with this guy after so many years. I am just so sorry that his death was in vain after the comment posted in tvrulesnation. I would like to have known why he needed this liver operation. Obviously someone wasn't looking after him very well. I for one know what liver problems can be like. But I won't go into the details here on a website dedicated to the best blues guitarist to come out of Ireland. Let's hope that Rory lives on in his music. My man IAN MACLEOD!!! |

Rolling Stone is not worth the paper it's written on. Those idiots wouldn't know a guitar picker from a cotton picker. All they do is push their political agenda, more than study music and who's good and who's not. Rory loved the music first, and that's what separates him from probably more than 75% of musicians in history. |

whats even worse about RS magazine is they Put Cobain/The Edge/Frusciante ahead of Roy Buchanan.
i'm a fan of all of them, but to have Buchanan at 50something & Cobain up 12 is madness.
don't trust RS they get slated by most rock musicians/magazines they became a joke around ....hmm 25 years ago, they initially HATED led zep, now they just sing their praises.
no decent fan/musician trusts RS, its bullshit.
that list was a popularity contest & to stir shit up to make it famous |

again to clear up another myth, Hendrix never said that about Rory (its commonly ''i dunno ask clapton/buchanan/keaggy''
supposedly Hendrix really said ''i dunno for all i know it could be some farm guitar picker up in Ohio'' (roughly what he said he basically lashed out supposedly at the reporter)
however i've no doubt that Hendrix would have thought highly of Rory had he have known him, rory was respected by all the big guitarists in the day. |

just to clear up that rumor it wasn't drink that killed Rory.
it was a superbug in hospital that he picked up after a liver operation, he needed the liver operation due to stress & binging on Pills that were mis-diagnosed to him to help his anxiety & sleep patterns + he felt he was losing popularity & toured harder in the 80s which caused stress.
he wasn't a druggie he basically just used to ''pop a pill'' when under immense pressure, Rory wasn't THAT much of a drinker |
