This is one of my favourite songs of all time and this live recording brings back amazing memories of me hearing it live at the Glasgow Aplollo in the early 80's. Even my two teenage kids love it - he's a timeless genius !!! |

My next door neighbour and her daughter came round the other night, wailing about how amazing Queen are/were. And how there was no guitarist could come near brian may.
Really, I said, because the teenage brian may got to meet rory gallagher after a concert once and asked him how on earth he managed to get such a great sound. Gallagher sat him down and gave him a masterclass in style & technique on which, he says in his autobigography, he based his entire career. |

It's a matter of taste, scuse the pun. Clapton's terrific but a teensey bit too sweet for me. And man, he owes JJ Cale a heap. Gallagher was so raw and full on, you expected the amps to blow any minute. He was like a summer storm that clears the air. Laid waste to all before him. You left high, drenched in sweat and you didn't land until the next day.

@univibe23 Rory never wanted to become commercialized. He sold approx. 36 million albums, in spite of it. People like yourself are now just discovering him.

(I had the privilege of seeing him several times in the 70s). Believe me, there was nobody else like him. |

After having watched many bands in my lifetime, I have come to the conclusion that watching a Rory video is more than ample as a substitute to a power drink, caffiene, or anything else. It never ceases to give me a lift. It's like audio/visual sunshine. |
